AJ was a child of the sea, spending her childhood predominantly in Torrance, Milwaukee and Seattle. Early on, the sisters began playing the guitar and piano. As they entered their teenage years, they already knew a lot about the instruments they used. AJ was acting by age five, and was a part of performances at the church.
